“ Manager was super welcoming and friendly and the gelato is always to die for! I overheard a customer with a peanut allergy very satisfied as well. Chill, clean vibe. ”
“ A must try if you are in Portland! The staff are very nice about letting you try a bunch of flavors before you settle on your favorites! Highly recommend getting a couple pints to take home with you, it was great having a freezer stash this holiday season! Some of the ones we tried and would recommend: Strawberry Balsamic Sweet Resergam Apple Cider and Donuts Cardamom Carrot Cake Banana Pudding ”
“ Small, no-frills, gelato spot in downtown Portland with a comprehensive selection of delicious gelato flavors The also have coffee and a cookie that they price "at market value", which is hilarious, but I only tried the gelato A few tables for seating, but not a ton ”
“ great gelato and friendly staff! i appreciate that they're open late. i will say, the atmosphere is so strange. i'm not sure who is in charge of their decor but it's a weird mix of japanese art, wood paneling, and fake crown molding. it's rather strange for a brand new building. also their cookie is subject to "market" price?? that's so funny ”
“ Some of the best gelato I've ever had. Luckily this spot was right near our Airbnb so we could go multiple times while we were in town. They have tons of great flavors. Everything was fresh and the flavor was amazing. The first time we went I had the mint chip and cake batter. The second time I had the strawberry and oreo cookies. Both were amazing! I love getting a combo of flavors. I got a size small and they really filled up the cup. It was plenty for my husband and I to split. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great vibe and friendly staff. Highly recommend! ”
“ I love this icecream spot! Usually I don't really eat gelato but this place hits the spot especially the strawberry balsamic flavor. Also, the staff that was taking my order was so sweet and accommodating which made my experience even better. Definitely recommend this local icecream spot when you come to Portland, Maine ”
“ We stopped in after dinner next door. The gelato was not mounded in the tubs, which was a good sign. I went for the sorbetto options, as regular dairy doesn't get along with me. I sampled the almond and the raspberry truffle. Both were tasty, but the almond was so full of toasted almond goodness that I had to get it. No regrets whatsoever. ”
“ Shortly before my most recent trip to Portland, one of my friends and I were sharing spots to check out as she had a trip planned up here too. One place she had recommended that wasn't on my radar was The Gelato Fiasco. I've been to another gelato spot in Portland, but I thought it would be a good idea to spice it up a bit a check this spot out - so that's what I did. GF is located on Fore Street in pretty much the heart of Old Port. The outside doesn't have the charm of some other spots in the vicinity, but I think it's due to the fact that the spot is contiguous with a hotel that has its own aesthetics. There was a short line when I walked in, which was fine since it gave me a chance to check out the menu. They have several flavors to choose from, as well as a decent array of sorbet. I decided on a cup, and I was told I can choose as many flavors as I wanted no matter what size - wow. I didn't want to go too nuts so I went with two: fresh cream and Maine wild blueberry crunch. The gelato was great - super creamy with great flavor; for some reason I was expecting something mid but it really exceeded them. Service was friendly - they were handling a large group in front of me but they did a great job maintaining traffic flow and excellent customer service. Overall, this is a yes - definitely worth a stop while in Portland. ”
“ One of the best gelatos I've eaten in America. Proper Italian gelato not to be confused with ice cream. Ice cream does not deserve the label of gelato. The flavors run from the classic (salted caramel, dark chocolate) to the seasonal (wild Maine blueberry crisp) to the gourmet (mascarpone, lavender) to the candy bar-stuffed (peanut butter with m&ms and Oreos). The quality is exceptional: voluptuous texture and intense flavor that doesn't dull on your tastebuds over time. I will be here every day during my stay in Portland. ”
“ Pros: -Service here was excellent! Such a friendly staff member -Can try as many as you want AND can combine multiple flavors into any size that you want. It's so refreshing to not have limits that most shops have on these -Hazelnut was absolutely delicious! Would love to return to try some of the other appetizing sounding flavors! ”
